Chris and I were at Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Expo this past weekend. It's a family friendly, general interest convention in our local area, and it's a great new but growing show.
The expo was in its second year, and it was more or less twice the size this year. The venue was the local civic center's north hall, which is where the local Cumulus stations would hold their Bridal Fair (T) most years. It's a BIG room, and it was packed with venders, stars, and convention goers all weekend.
Huntsville is the nearest big city to our home town. It's also become home to several conventions in the past few years. It's always nice to work an event where you not only don't need a hotel room, but you have the opportunity to catch up with friends you generally only see at conventions in the area, vender and attendees alike.
We had the opportunity to once again see amazing cosplays, meet and speak with new people, and just enjoy an atmosphere of people having a blast. I hate that I didn't get more pictures of people's costumes or video of memes coming to life as a "conga line" led by a "glitching" Spiderman and a pair of T-Rexes having a slap fight right in front of our booth. But I'm a coward when it comes to asking people for a picture, so that's something I need to work on.
All in all, it was a good show, and I wish Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Expo all the best as it continues to grow in years to come.
