Here's a new one for Star Wars fans. Jen Erso stands out among other Star Wars leads because she isn't a Jedi or a political figure. Her father was involved with the Empire, sure, but Jen herself was just a regular woman trying to keep her head down and survive prior to being contacted by the rebels. Yet when presented the opportunity, she stood up and fought.
The design of Martyr's Hope pays homage to Jen, and the rest of Rogue One's, part in the rebellion, modeled after the disk of plans they stole. The fragrance is a rich, earthy blend of sea spray, daylily, lavender, watery florals, black amber, mahogany, teak, oak, cedar, nutmeg, and clove.
The soaps are a blend of our glycerin and goat milk soap recipes colored with mineral oxide powders. The soaps and solid perfumes are free of detergents, dyes, parabens, and phthalates to be as gentle as possible.
Soaps and perfumes will become available through our store front on Saturday, June 10.
This new scent is one that's been in the back of my mind for a long time, and it's another that's been requested a few times since we debuted Demon Hunter. Either the lineup was already packed, or the budget just wasn't there for the new mold needed: something just seemed to keep getting in the way until now.
Fallen of the Lord was inspired by Supernatural's Castiel. The scent is a fresh yet earthy blend of Sandalwood, vanilla bean, evergreen, crackling firewood, clean laundry, and musk.
The soaps are a blend of our usual goat milk and glycerin recipes colored with mineral oxide powders. Like all of our bath and body products, the soaps and perfumes are free of dyes, phthalates, parabens, and detergents to be as gentle as possible.
The soaps and solid perfumes will become available through our store front on Saturday, June 10.
Chris and I heard numerous requests for soaps inspired by these two parallel characters from Marvel and DC, so of course, we made a note and did our best to fulfill them.
Capt. Boy Scout is a light and fresh blend of marine, ozone, sandalwood, musk, orange, vanilla bean, and warm apple pie. The design and fragrance was inspired by Marvel's Captain America.
The soaps are a blend of our goat milk and glycerin recipes colored with mineral oxide powders. As you can tell from the picture above, a matching solid perfume will also be available.
Several people pointed out the store's lack of Marvel inspired fragrances at conventions over the past year. I hadn't noticed how very out of balance the superhero fragrances were until this was pointed out, so this year, I'm working to correct that some.
Today's introduction includes two of the three Marvel inspired scents coming to the store next month.
It's design season here at Contented Comfort! Planning for 2017's nine new permanent fragrances began before New Year's Day, but production never begins before the end of April. Well, it's here. Manufacturing began last week, and today I'm pleased to introduce two of our upcoming fragrances.
It's the time of year where I begin brainstorming the new permanent fragrances and designs for debut at Con Kasterborous in June.
Each year, we introduce nine new fragrances to be added to our permanent collection. Last year was an exception when a last minute request was just too good to push into the next line. So far, I have a couple solid ideas, but I want to hear from you. Everything we do here at Contented Comfort is to try to help make your life more contented, comfortable, and just all around awesome, after all, so your input is key!
What are some characters, series, or general concepts you would like to see rendered in soap? Do you have a specific fragrance idea you'd love to try? Leave a comment below or contact me directly to leave your request, and I'll see what I can do to bring them to life.
It's fall, and you know what that means. It's football season! To celebrate, I'm introducing a new fragrance named "Team Spirit." It's a warm yet fresh blend of sage, cinnamon, blue spruce, balsam fir, and leather.
If you love the crisp, tart scent of peaches mixed with the rich sweetness of cream and vanilla, you have Chris to thank for this new gem. He came up with the idea for a peaches and cream summer special a couple of weeks back. I made up a few bars, and they turned out terrific.
Finally, we're to the last new fragrance for the main lines this year. It's one I've received numerous requests for over the past year or so.
Instability was inspired by the movie "Fight Club." The bars are the classic pink of the iconic logo with the initials rendered in black. The fragrance is a bold and masculine blend of bergamot, basil, white patchouli, oakmoss, sandalwood, tonka bean, cedar wood, lemon, petitgrain, and dirt.
The soaps are a mix of our usual goat milk and glycerin recipes made with coconut oil, palm butter, corn oil, and vitamin E oil colored with mineral oxide powders.
Like all our bath and body products, they are free of detergents, dyes, phthalates, and paraben to be as gentle on the skin as possible. They will become available via our store on June 25.
Today's new design was literally dreamed up by a friend of mine, who used to be a soaper herself a few years back. However, having been out of soaping for several years and not wanting the hassle of gathering materials and tools again, she passed on the idea.
I decided to dub the design "Hero's Journey" since the design resembles the sunset one might ride off into after the journey is done, and I blended the fragrance with that in mind. It's a crisp blend of pomegranate, apple, grape, peach, plum, citrus, rose, fir needles, marine, ozone, crackling firewood, and musk.
This batch is pure glycerin soap colored with mineral oxide and mica powders. Subsequent batches will be made using just a bit of goat milk soap to make the "clouds" stand out more.
Like all of our bath and body products, they are detergent, dye, phthalate, and paraben free to be as gentle as possible. These soaps and the matching perfumes will be available June 25, 2016.
