Do you want to be good to your skin when you take off your makeup, but you don't like how it can stain your washcloths? Then you'll love today's DIY.
It seems like everyone is using coconut oil for everything these days, but it is a really nice oil to use when removing your makeup, even waterproof mascarras. Any kind of oil will work, particularly light weight ones like olive oil. However, coconut oil's melting point makes it ideal. Most homes are cool enough for the oil to be solid in the container, but it begins melting upon contact with your skin. This makes it easier and less messy to use for makeup removal.
Start by getting a small amount of coconut oil out of the container, rubbing it between your hands. Massage the oil onto your face. If you are wearing eyeliner and mascara, take care to coat your eyelids and eyelashes. Finally, wash the excess coconut oil off of your hands.
Now take a baby wipe. I prefer the unscented, sensitive wipes because they work best with my skin, but use whichever ones you prefer. Use the wipe to cleanse your face of the coconut oil and makeup.
I tend to still feel a bit oily after this step, so I usually wash my face as normal with a detergent free soap and warm water. Then just follow up with your usual moisturizer, and you're done.
