Contented Comfort got its start on Etsy, and even as this site grew, we've kept up a limited Etsy storefront. However, this is about to change.
The online market has changed in dramatic ways over the four years we've been on it. As is perhaps to be expected with publicly owned websites, these changes benefit the site's bottom line at the expense of those using them. Some of the earlier changes were the reason Amanda decided to build this main website in 2014, and others in combination with the growth of this site itself, make stepping away from the Etsy online market the smartest choice for the store. Therefore, we here at Contented Comfort want to let you know, once the items currently listed on our Etsy storefront either sale or the listings expire, that storefront will close. How does this affect you? Nothing much will change as far as the use of this site goes. The biggest thing will be what doesn't happen. Stepping away from the increased fees and dramatically lowered traffic on Etsy and concentrating sales into one online store negates the need for a price increase that would soon have become necessary otherwise. This unfortunately doesn't apply to shipping fees, however. USPS raised their rates on flat rate shipping last month. It is still the most cost effective method of shipping within the continental United States, so we are sticking with their service for the time being. This means we must now charge $6.80 per package instead of the $5.70 we charged previously. We don't like it either, but it's the exact amount we're charged for the priority shipping service. On the plus side, it is a flat rate, so you always know how much you'll be paying. We do allow pick up for those of you in the North Alabama area. Simply contact us to set up a time and to place your order directly to the owner.
